SPRINGFIELD, MISSOURI – Owner and President of ADsmith Communications, Angela Smith, has announced the promotion of Celeste Skidmore to Executive Vice President. Her duties will include business management, human resources, and staff supervision. She will retain her duties in Account Services and continue to develop and implement marketing plans for ADsmith clients.

Skidmore joined ADsmith Communications in September 2006 after spending more than 25 years at Journal Broadcast Group, where her career included management, accounting, sales, promotions, and event coordination. She attended Southwest Missouri State University.

ADsmith Communications, a member of the American Association of Advertising Agencies (AAAA), is a full-service advertising agency owned by Angela Smith. The agency provides marketing leadership through media analysis, market research, public relations, graphic design, electronic media production, strategic planning, and business consultation. Election to AAAA, the industry's national trade association, is the highest professional recognition an advertising agency can achieve. AAAA membership has been awarded to less than 10 percent of the more than 13,000 ad agencies in the United States.

Gearing Up

By Nathan Williams

Things are definitely starting to gain some momentum for
spring--namely, video projects.

We're gearing up and pulling out the big guns for some serious TV shoots in the upcoming weeks. Thankfully, we're prepared well enough ahead of things to get our award-winning* video production team ready to crank out the magic. It's always a pleasant experience working with capable, super-par pros who can be trusted to get the light just right, the perfect angle on a shot, the animation timed precisely, and the coffee at the right strength: insanely black.

Identity seems to be the name of the current game, too. We're in the process of working from the ground up with several clients, refreshing elements and creating entirely new ones, like, say...THIS, for example:

(coming soon)

This is just really fun!

Back to work!

*seriously...six of our seven recent Addy wins were for video projects

Webmersion

Our Web design projects here in Suite 801 are starting to gain some momentum. We're starting work on several at this very moment; some in the design phase, some in the programming phase, some in the bidding phase. Here's one such project into which our design team has been, er... 'webmersed.' Just a little teaser screen shot of the new Country Road Collection online presence.

CRC Site

Yeah, yeah, we know...even LOST never had such a nail-biting teaser!

This one will use a lot of stuff--multiple images, blog, multiple Flash elements, and lots of other pretties. It's definitely got the international vibe we're wanting. I can't be quite sure, but we MAY be listening to entirely too much baroque music and drinking entirely too much English Breakfast Tea while Photoshopping our way through the design.

If that's the case, then so be it, I say...SO BE IT!

What? A new website? Why now?

The answer is simple: ADsmith practices what we preach. And what we have consistently preached since the company opened is the importance of building your brand if you intend to grow.

Thanks to our clients, ADsmith has steadily grown. Our new website reflects who we are at the beginning of 2008.

Spend some time with us. Get to know us. See how we operate and what we do.

And check back with us every now and then. Different members of our staff will update this blog from time to time, adding their own thoughts, musings and caffeine dependence.

Welcome . . . and thanks for visiting.

Blogs: good for your business!

by Sarah Duvall, Creative Assistant

June 25, 2008

Have you caught on to the growing trend of blogging? Blogs are an opportunity for every employee, no matter his or her role in an organization, to become a positive voice for the company. Blogs give website viewers and potential customers an insight into the personality of the company and its employees.

ADsmith helped Rick and Jane McElvaine of Maxon's Diamond Merchants launch their blog with a redesigned website in October 2007. Both Rick and Jane share stories of helping customers find the perfect jewelry for the special occasion and stories of sentimental jewelry in their own lives. The blog feature also allows the McElvaines to post about exclusive inventory, special sales or other company information.

If the idea of a blog is potentially confusing to either you or your clients, think of it as simply a news article or journal entry. A blog feature operating under the guise of a news article is the Trust Company of the Ozarks' Insights. Finding a trustworthy information source about markets and other financial management issues is as simple as reading this blog.

We'll keep you posted about additional ADsmith client websites and blog launches in the coming months!
